Wisdom of the Dying:

Lessons from Patients

As a physician who has been treating hospitalized Covid19 patients over the past 2+ years, I have seen numerous patients pass away, particularly in the surges of 2020/2021. On their deathbed, some are ready for death, while others are not.

I have been carefully documenting the life lessons that dying patients have imparted upon me over the past couple years and have written a book tentatively titled "Wisdom of the Dying” which details the common principles and lessons observed in the many victims of the covid pandemic that were ready for death when it came for them or the regrets expressed by those that were not.

I describe the fascinating life stories of many patients I encountered that demonstrate common themes amongst those that felt they lived a fulfilling life as they died. Additionally, I review relevant scientific research from the fields of medicine, neuroscience, psychology and philosophy that support the perspectives presented.
